OUR FAMILIES
We are here for the children. They are our motivation and reason for work. As our mission states, we aim to provide each one with an environment that encourages intellectual, spiritual, social and physical growth.
The Children Village Kigarama has the capacity to support 100 orphans. At present, we have 105 children living in our village who range in age from 2 to 21 years.
Fostering a suitable growth environment is critical to our success as a Children Village. We meet basic needs, but also try to promote the development of behavior through social interactions. Therefore, we established a familial set up in our village within which each child lives and learns. Eight to fifteen children live in each of our six houses. Each house has one mother figure that fulfills a leadership position providing the children with guidance, care and love while also teaching about responsibility through inclusion in daily work activities.
